Telalian was seen a week or so ago looking over the building at 1000 Beloit.
Now the sidewalk on Harvard is blocked off and it looks like part of the building is ready to fall off.
So what are they going to do now? Tear it down and build anew? Fix it? Keep the sidewalk blocked forever? Or try to dump it on a developer?

Anyone care to place some bets?

Ed's "and" the school? You mean a public parking lot. Both a lot for Ed's Way or a lot for the school would make one or the other a private lot. So it would have to be a lot for everyone.
My how some people's plans change, eh?

I posed the question of what the heck is going on at 1000 Beloit too.   DC said they were going to replace the sidewalks.

Tear it down you think?  That would make the $330K investment really well worth our dollars now wouldn't it?  Geez.  Tony just had to have it.

It sounds like they are finally going to start work on that police substation, right?

What does Marty say? Parking lot? Substation? Get rid of it?

A parking lot would come in handy there. A substation would cost a lot considering the building has to be razed.
Maybe they want me to pay the full amount on my tickets so they can afford a new building? At%20a%20loss

Developers need money and there is no money to be had especially on dicey real estate.

For example, Barney has three homes finished that he can't sell plus a big hole on Elgin, another big hole with 6 poured foundations on the 200 block of DesPlaines and a property with an approved project but not yet started on the 100 block of DesPlaines.

The owner of the Roos property is nowhere to be found and the units in the Grove are not selling.

This is only a snapshot of what is happening all over the country. Apparently only gold, shares of Walmart and Campbell's soup are the only things holding their value now.

Think it's a good time to start investing in Ramen Soup?
Sounds like even tougher times lie ahead.

Don't forget Barney's townhomes on the old Calderone family property on Elgin.

I thought Marani was the builder on the 200 block of DesPlaines (and old Randolph St. Depot)?

So does Famous Liquors but that doesn't necessarily make it good.

The Calderone homes, 504 & 508 Elgin are the hole I was refering to. Barney's 200 DesPlaines project is on the west side adjacent to Rockford Ct.
