And then there's the "Paging Mike Curry" editorial.

Paging Mike Curry

Seems the two are linked, sort of. What a major disappointment this current council has proved to be.

So Backman, what's your take on Boyle?

I don't have any idea. Sounds like a new one!

But I guess we should be careful; don't want a note on my car that says "watch your back"! (if that actually occurred)

let's see.

in early 2009 curry pitches a significant salary increase for boyle.
in july 2009 curry pushes boyle to resign, but not over 'performance issues.'
boyle has a frank talk w/the mayor regarding his job security. oh, and marani files suit.
the 'village' offers boyle a severance pkg and boyle submits his resignation to the mayor.
commish curry suggests that 'other public officials may be in a position to answer questions.'

bwahahahahahahahahahaha.

ya know, there is a certain public official that pretends he has no dealings w/the bldg department. he's familiar w/no particular cases - not boyle, not gaetano's, not mine.
only knows what happens via council meetings and what he reads in the review :)

are we supposed to believe curry is the power at village hall? curry up and fired boyle and simply had judy kovaks write him a $30k check?
yep, that must be it - mike 'dick cheney' curry.

i feel badly for boyle; no fun being the fall guy.
i thought he was a terrible fit for his job, he was a straight-and-narrow irish catholic guy - all black and white, no grey.
appears he was fired because he insisted the marani condos be safe, or even haitian habitable.

i'm afraid the review has wasted ink on this one.
curry abdicated his elected responsibilities this time last year, basically turned them over to calderone and gillian. i have no doubt the mayor likes it that way, but no idea why curry does.
three years since curry declared LNC his signature issue but gillian grabs it w/out a peep.
maybe they'll give him a bit part in the Zoning Workship Presentation.

I don't think Boyle's problem was the Irish Catholic part, his problem was too honest for those he had to "work" with.

As far as Curry being the brains behind this decision - HA - he couldn't find his way out of a paper bag....this was how Tony got the votes he needed to get his buddy hired.

welcome, jt3 :)
here's my beef (well, one of them) - how does an elected official just stop doing his job? we have the commish form of govt! he gets paid $10k/year to oversee the bldg deparment. hell's bells.
shouldn't that person resign their position? some honor in that.
