Proclaimed that she was moving out of Forest Park. When asked why, she said in a robust voice that she was leaving Forest Park to move to Vermont where the air and the poitics were clean. She said she's had enough of the stuff going on here.

Another good reason is the fact that they are about to get single-payer healthcare coverage.

But the winters are unspeakable.

And I'm not so convinced that government is run a whole lot better wherever you are. I'm of the feeling that most politicians are crooked to some degree. Every day another seems to prove that out.

How are Vermont winters any more unspeakable than Chicago's?

The old Maine joke: What's green and goes backwards?

                    Vermont

With Maine's election of Gov. LePetomaine, with all of his "Rock Ridge" initiatives (Removal of WPA murals depicting laborers from the Dept. of Labor) and general tea-bagginess. It might be Vermonters who have the last laugh.

BTW, our former Village Administrator ver. 1.0 took his act to a tourist town in Maine. They're still picking up the pieces and mending fences.

Several years ago there was a movement for Libertarians to relocate and "take over" Vermont. Upon arrival they converted into independent progressives. They found out that a little tolerance goes a long way.

There are always people leaving FoPa, some are more vocal than others.

From my experience, Vermont winters begin in August.

You need more experience. Vermont's Fall is spectacular.

Springs can be pretty too, but difficult to get around. Too thick to navigate; too thin to plow.
