Looks like the district administrators are all getting new contracts and increases in pay, per the Board minutes.

Rumor has it they also got bonuses.

Oh, and we still cut 49 teachers.
All right everyone, line up alphabetically according to your height.

All part of their zero-tolerance for accountability initiative.

By any measure, a roaring success!

Or as DC would put it... Duh, Winning!

Some teacher's aides were also just laid off. I'm not against raises or bonuses, but not at the cost of reducing staff. And from what I hear, the new options for medical insurance really sucks too. They went from so-so providers to really bad ones.

It should probably be noted, for our more casual readers, that the "district" to which Isis refers is D209/Proviso.

Salary: $225,165
Position: District Superintendent

Johnson, Andrew
Salary: $147,849
Position: Director

Schneider, Mark
Salary: $147,849
Position: Director

Johnson, Nikita
Salary: $167,876
Position: Assistant District Superintendent

Pruitt, Cheryl
Salary: $151,867
Position: Assistant District Superintendent

Palm Wallace, Alexis
Salary: $151,867
Position: High School Principal

Patch, Milton
Salary: $151,867
Position: High School Principal

Moyer, Jr., Edward
Salary: $144,635
Position: High School Principal

Robertson, Beverly

Position: Assistant High School Principal

~$1.5 MILLION!

Are any of their increases tied to performance accomplishments at the schools? Or just political (ala our VA getting 10% just because)?

Oh. Never mind. I was referring to our D91 that just laid off some employees.

When any entity is firing 50 people making $30-50K, while giving raises to people making $125K plus, something's seriously screwed up in the "plan". When that same entity grants tenure to a teacher with a DRUG CONVICTION, another big red flag goes up.

Since we know that Wallace & Patch are being replaced as Principals with "Turnaround Experts", we also know that such "expertise" will not come cheap. I really don't care that the funding for this little game will come from Dept of Education grants. The 209 BoE, still controlled by Welch, will still be in charge, will still be playing their games and the district's students will still be trapped in a failed institution.
