Ferrara Pan Candy Co. called local police last week to have Sal Ferrara II, the company's president and chief operating officer, removed from the premises.

Forest Park deputy chief Tom Aftanas confirmed that Ferrara was removed from the company's headquarters last Wednesday.

Police responded to a disturbance call, and spent about an hour at the family-owned candy company based in Forest Park. Aftanas said that Ferrara eventually left the building willingly, and was not placed in handcuffs.

Ferrara's status with the company is unclear. Calls to the company and Ferrara were not immediately returned.
