It said in the paper that everything was cleaned up but there are lots of branches still on the southside of town on parkways and in the gutters. Wonder why it's taking so long this time. Usually see the trucks out and about with the chipper and haven't seen (or heard) it.

Hey Piehead, if you're so bothered by the lack of effort from PW, why don't you go out there and volunteer your time to do some cleanup??? Those guys were out there all week cleaning up the debris. Do you really think that just because they weren't in shouting distance of your house that they weren't working on it? What the f*** fantasy world do you live in that everything must be absolutely perfect and to your specifications?? You are unbelievable!

Hey Finch, I was basing my comment on what Gillian said in the paper: "At Monday night's council meeting, Village Administrator Tim Gillian told attendees that public works crews had been out for most of the day, starting at 7:30 a.m., and that they were working hard to clean up the debris left behind by the storm.

Gillian lauded said the village will continue to respond accordingly."

To read this the village was done. I was just commenting that the south side of town still had all their downed branches out at the curbs. No fantasy world. Merely a comment; which I am entitled to make (which I'm guessing you'd love to stifle).

Piehead, if I were the public works guys I would do every street EXCEPT yours and then I would gather up the crew, stand on the corner and sip coffee all day long.

I am not saying anything bad about our public works guys. They are great and do an awesome job. I was just curious why the southside was not getting picked up.

That sucks; I have friends up north (Lake and McHenry county) that still have no power and one friend still has a downed power line in his yard. This storm was terrible.

I was in Wheaton and Glen Ellen yesterday and they still have a lot of debris along the streets to pick up from last week.

I think it comes down to available time, money and manpower for all municipalities.
