Hi All,

I have a big favor to ask. I have just finished my first year as coordinator for the Box Tops For Education program at Lauren’s school. This year, we almost doubled last year’s earnings and brought in a total of just over $1200. This money is used for a variety of things for the teachers and students that the general budget doesn’t allow for. For those unfamiliar with the program, General Mills instituted a program where they print a Box Top on certain brands, and for every Top clipped and redeemed, they will pay 10 cents to the school. As you can see, they do add up! These brands include (but are not limited to) Hefty, all GM cereals, Ziploc, Betty Crocker, Kleenex and Progresso. They can also be earned by doing your online shopping by going through boxtopsforeducation.com to get to the retailer’s website.

I am sure many of you use these products, and if you don’t have elementary students, they just get thrown away. I would like you to please keep an eye out for them on the products you already buy, and save them for us. I can pick them up,  they can be mailed to me, or stuck in my mailbox. I am looking into the possibility of putting drop boxes around town as well. We are collecting for Ascension School in Oak Park,  however, as part of a service project for Lauren and her friends, we have decided to give half of anything collected in FP to St. Bernardine’s, as they are going through a tough time financially. We also collect Labels For Education (Campbell’s soups, Pepperidge Farms, Post cereals and Glad products).

Thanks for reading (I can be quite “verbose” as my Dad would’ve said) Embarrassed. Please feel  free to PM me or email me at btfelisa at yahoo.com with any questions or more info.

Lisa (@ Mods  – sorry if this unwelcome or in the wrong place! Slap me if necessary).

Rats, I just passed a whole bunch of these that I had been collecting to a woman at work (for her niece's school).

My next stack will go your way! Hope you collect a bunch of them.
