Evidently, 5/3 there was a meeting

with people that live near the Pines/Oak Leaf Lounge (I didn't realize that place was still 'in business' as it looks like hell!!!). Anyone that lives near there get an invite and attend?

From the mayor's facebook page: "Had a great meeting last night with the residents who live around the Pines/Oak Leaf lounge. The residents are rightfully concerned about the conduct and behavior of the patrons who gather at this business on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday nights. My top brass from the police department were there to here first hand about the negative impact this business has on the neighborhood. Stepped up efforts are coming."

Interesting back and forth: A participant said: "I was really interested in meeting the owner, and seeing his point of view, I am sorry I missed the meeting.

Mayor Anthony Calderone: His underlying point of view was that this all could have been eliminated had he been able to build his proposed senior housing project a couple of years ago. I don't agree with his point."

So this yahoo who keeps a dirty (at best) looking place is A) allowed to operate and B) seems to have a FU attitude towards the village.

I could tell from the tone of the article. Good, he should be. The guy who owns the Pines sounds like a jerk.
