Cruise nights kicked off last night to a dismal showing of cars and spectators. It peaked early with 16 - 18 cars and very few people wandering the parking lot and street.
Coincidentally, Riverside has their cruise nights on Thursdays too (5 miles away) and Oak Park has their "Thursday Night out" (1 mile away) program again this year. Who the heck chose this day of the week anyway? It's time to dump our CN and put the money towards infrastructure since I doubt much sales tax was taken in last night. P.S. The music was ok, a live band instead of recordings of tired old 50 - 60s songs for a change but it would be nice to get their fee back and use it for a higher and better use. |

Yes, who indeed picked Thursday. Saw lots of cars heading to Riverside as I was heading to dinner in Countryside (where they had a first rate band playing for free in a park, not the tired ones he village always hires).
