Anybody notice the ZB notice in this week's review? Looks like Walmart is asking to reduce required parking, increase the size of their building by 25,000 sq ft and add a larger sign. (Love how the sign restrictions only seem to apply to Madison St.) Wonder what the effect of this will be on traffic flow and on the flooding problems we're having here in the Potterville side of town.

Other items on the agenda as well. Three new or expansions of existing restaurants: one in the Taxman Bldg (7237); Louie's possibly expanding into the Kazzbar space (7420-220; and one down on the far western end of Madison in the strip mall near the car wash (7744).

Back in September Louie's Grill revealed the plans to double their space

WalMart, less parking.....where will all the semis that park overnight go then?

Except for the bigger sign, I'm okay with it. The sign would depend on placement and style.

Roosevelt is different than Madison st. I think that might be why the council majority has such difficulty thinking or doing anything about down here.

(or anything else that isn't Madison St.?)

Yes, OUR WalMart sucks for sure. Too close to the city; it attracts the best of the worst!

Appears most of the new building is on the east side of the existing, the place I always parked. They have/had a retention pond there, think they might be filling it in.

Shopped at Meijer's today on North Ave., though we do shop at Ed's and other places for specific things, was able to place an order online, pick-up in store. Literally saved $17 on a six-pack of baby bottles, could not find a better price anywhere. Yoplait for $.39, was on my way to Sam's, never got there.

And soon enough there'll be nicer Meijers closer than Melrose.  ;-)

It should be nice since it's being built from the ground, up.   The Melrose one is nice, but they used the existing Cub Foods infrastructure and old flooring.  Looks kinda dark in there w/that floor.  I work by a full-sized Meijer with white flooring and it just seems so much brighter (brighter just looks cleaner, IMO).

Dark is Burlington Coat Factory, arm breaker looking through some of the racks, haven't been back, maybe it's brighter now.

Oh, did I mention, two Carter's outfits for the same price I paid last week at the Penney's BIG sale for one:)

Tony's prices are going up, Jewel going down.
